How will the LS1 win? If any of you actually attended any races, I can pull up plenty of videos of a Bolt on + tune +Longtubes & Cutout+ slicks LS1 just barely winning a H/C 5.0. And the LS1 is a good driver.

300? a bone stock ls1 dynos at 330rwhp. He is pushing about 345rwhp with the mods

330 RWHP STOCK? LOL. Find me a pre 02 without LS6 intake that does that.
Also it was rated 325 BHP.

So -18% for being an auto gives you what?

345 RWHP? Thats an overestimation since my friends dynoed 350 with lid, intake, long tubes, cut outs, tune


Also let me direct you to actual LS1 Forum post on dyno numbers.

All of them say Auto 290-300 RWHP, so a guy with exhaust gets 305 RWHP.

We do not know the OP's numbers. OP originally stated he has anywhere from 270-290rwhp. So you can not assume he has 290rwhp. Camaros have a lot of top end aswell. Like I said it'll be a good race. But odds are looking like the camaro. HCI will only get you passed stock to minor bolt on LS1's if that. An other LS1 with HCI requires boost. Blower/Turbo FTW.... Off subject... But I have a friend with just 410's and longtubes on his ls1 and has no problem beating stangs with about 300rwhp-330rwhp.

For anyone on the SF/peninsula side of the bay who has a mustang with H/C/I and wants the same challenge, my boy has a stock LS1 auto other than Longtubes and gears and he will gladly put you ALL back in your place... Don't mistake me for a "LS" lover, I'm just a realist not a dreamer..

I think a stock maro ls1 is rated 315 hp @ the flywheel, so to the rear should be under 300, but i could be wrong its been awhile...

I have been to many races, and the LS1s seem to run low 13s and high 12s with a good driver. But GT40 heads making 290RWHP is hard to believe for me, shit I could barely push out 410RWHP with a 306, GT40 heads and a S-trim with 15lbs of boost with alot of timing and race gas.

Def not!!, he's just a guy I know and he only had the car for 2 days when you guys raced.. I'm talking about my boy who has a blue one thats an auto.. he knows how to drive that for sure

You guys don't no what your talking about, my mustang has 330 horsepower and and a couple of weeks ago I beat a maro with gears and longtubes by about litterally 8 cars, on camara in case you want to see it, and another one with gears, longtubes, cam, and tune and beat him by 3 cars. I don't know why you and your boys don't just sell your mustangs and get a ls1 already.

Seems like you are another guy here blinded by ford.. You sometimes just have to admit it, LS1's are hard to beat, especially by a H/C/I mustang.. I'm guessing you are running deep 11's maybe high 10's because the cammed LS1's I hang around run mid to high 11's... I find what your saying hard to believe, post /pm me the videos then I'll shut up..

I am sure 99% of the people here want the stang to win! Problem is He has'nt been on the dyno or to the track & let's face it edelbrock's are a step up from His iron headed 40's. If He get's out front He will have a shot "drag radial's ftw" but the odd's of Him chasing the maro down are low.
